Dr. Girgenti graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology.

In 1990, he graduated from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA with the degree, Doctor of Optometry.

Some of his clinical rotations include: The Boston Optometric Center Contact Lens Clinic, The Brighton Marine Public Health Center, and The Providence Veterans Administration Hospital.

Dr. Girgenti has served on the Board of Directors in The Rhode Island Optometric Association. He is also a member of the American Optometric Association and The New England College of Optometry Alumni Association.
